Overview

In quiet cul de sac located at 18 mile post on beach road. 800 feet to beach and ocean. Totally remodeled in 2008. Two screened porches: 1st level porch is enclosed (with separate air conditioner) and sleeps 3; 2nd level porch is screened, great for outdoor dining, and has lovely views of sound. Ground floor level has utility room with washer/dryer, extra refrigerator, 2 outside showers, fish cleaning table, swings, picnic table, etc. Two decks with furniture. Beautifully furnished with complete amenities, including wifi and 50' widescreen TV with blue ray DVD. Short walk to Outer Banks pier.

Away From The Beach: Oregon Inlet Fishing Center for deep sea fishing, headboats, watching ships come in with their catches (this occurs at 4:30 PM every day, is free and lots of fun to watch). Visit the nearby town of Manteo to see Elizabeth II sailing ship, living history, and great exhibits at the Festival Park. Attend the Lost Colony outdoor drama and see the Elizabethan garden. Hike at Nags Head Wood Preserve and see a maritime forest. Go crabbing with the kids because they are hilarious to watch. Bicycle along the beachfront path.

A Great Day Trip: Leave early in the AM. Go south over the Bonner Bridge, heading down to the Hatteras lighthouse. Go swimming at the beach afterward. Keep going south to take the free ferry to Ocracoke. Have lunch on the dock. Check out the national park activities and Howard Street, a quaint old street that's more a path. Drive around town a little--it's tiny. Stop by the Ocracoke lighthouse (you can't go in). Head back north stopping for a swim at one of the wonderful beaches on Ocracoke. Try to get back over the Bonner Bridge by 4:30 PM to see the deep sea fishing fleet arrive at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center.

Beach Activities: Sunset is the best time. Sunrises can be beautiful. Coquina Beach has great facilities and warmer water because of the gulf stream. Sound beaches are great for kids. Kite flying heaven. Bocce ball and volleyball. Surf fishing. Boogie boarding and surfing. Night hikes with flashlights. Bonfires (permission is easy).

You are free to use any of the many supplies (i.e. spices, tin foil, saran wrap, plastic bags, paper goods, condiments, shampoo etc.) provided in the house. If you use something up, please replace it so the next guest will not be without. Plentiful sheets and bath and beach towels provided.

South Nags Head is a quiet residential community bordered by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The beach road is the only main road through the area, and there's not a lot of traffic here, which adds to the tranquility. Extensive shopping and restaurants are nearby(about a mile and a half) but cannot be seen or heard from this house, only 800 feet from the ocean, in a child-safe cul de sac. The beach is long, clean and lovely with a bicycle path alongside for many miles. Besides the beach, there is a wide variety of local attractions that have something interesting for all age groups: historical sites and lighthouses, a beautiful aquarium, deep water fishing, surf fishing and including a fantastic new pier just 1 1/2 miles north and a comfortable older pier just 1/2 mile south plus water sports of every kind imaginable, a marine forest, golf and tennis, and much more.

Check in on Sunday at 2 PM and Check out following Sunday 10 AM.
Check in on Sunday at 2 PM and Check out following Sunday at 10 AM. 50% of rental is required upfront. Balance plus $100 refundable security deposit is due 3 weeks prior to arrival Security deposit will be refunded after property manager reports to owner that house has been left in good condition.
